ABS Valiant Teat Dips—Perfect for Alternative Bedding Environments
ABS Valiant Pre: A premium Chlorine Dioxide pre dip that provides a quick 5 log 15 second kill and has a high surfactant package that thoroughly lifts soil immediately breaking through the organic load. Valiant Pre has blue coloring for easy identification and has been NMC protocol tested. Valiant Pre is can be effectively applied with a dip cup, sprayer or foamer.
If you are using Alternative Bedding and having Somatic Cell Count issues Valiant Pre is a good place to start. It provides a fast kill germicide that cuts through the organic load. Dealers Host Milk Quality Meetings
Champion Milking Systems, of Albany, MN and Advanced Dairy Systems of Spring Valley, WI hosted a Milk Quality Meeting for their producers.The keynote speakers were Dr. Roger Thomson who spoke on the “400,000 Cell Count….How Are You Getting There” and Paul Peetz followed up with his presentation on “New Products & Equipment To Achieve Milk Quality Goals.” The two of them worked great together.Dr. Thomson focused on where to look for the environmental mastitis bugs and the procedural protocols that can be implemented to eliminate them. Paul Peetz was able to then discuss Products & Systems that MEDA handles that contribute to better milk quality such as protocol tested teat dips, Mouthpiece Vented IMPULSE Triangular Liner & Shells, Bac-Drop Systems to Sanitize your parlor, a Complete Laundry System/ Program and Hydrogen Peroxide Systems to keep water clean. Captive Audience on Environmental Mastitis Treatment & Prevention
Dr. Pamela Ruegg DVM, MPVM, UW Madison and Dr. Roger Thomson DVM, Team Management, P.L.C. captivate 91 producers, representing 33,537 cows on Environmental Mastitis- Treatment and Prevention. The Producer Meeting was held at the Holiday Inn in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on Thursday, March 24th. This is our second annual meeting that included producers, vets, manufacturers (ECOLAB & ABS Global) and milking equipment dealers (LDS Inc., Chilton WI, Gehring Sales & Services, Rubicon WI and Karrels Dairy Equipment, Port Washington).
The meeting was very informational as it outlined ways to help prevent mastitis from cow preparation, to teat dip formulations to better sanitation systems. The meeting did not stop there as it also explained how make better treatment decisions. The audience came away with a better understanding through indivudal case studies on cows whether to treat or eat them. Both Dr. Ruegg and Dr. Thomson did a terrific job in conveying the message. Both are terrific speakers and are must see!

Environmental Mastitis Control — Treatment & Prevention
On Wednesday, March 23rd at the Rock Garden in Green Bay, WI and Thursday, March 24th at the Holiday Inn in Fond du Lac, WI MEDA – CHEM-STAR in conjunction with ECOLAB and ABS Global are putting on a Producer Meeting entitled “Environmental Mastitis Control – Treatment and Prevention.” We are very excited to be featuring Dr. Pamela Reugg, DVM, MPVM, University of Wisconsin and Dr. Roger Thomson, DVM, ABS Team Managment Concepts, P.L.C. as our keynote speakers. Both have dedicated their careers and practices to mastitis treatment, prevention and overall better milk quality and cow health. Dr. Reugg’s presentation will leave you with a better understanding on how to make treatment decisions based on our economic climate.
